Birth of the World is the graphic design studio practice of Chris Rypkema. The studio collaborates with artists, brands, and cultural organizations creating images and identities through movement and time.
Chris Rypkema is a design director based in New York City, working in visual identity, communication design, and motion. He has contributed to projects for global fashion houses, major museums, independent design studios, and leading tech companies. Chris has taught at Parsons School of Design, the School of Visual Arts, and Rutgers University, and has recently been a visiting critic at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Previously, he was an art director at the Museum of Modern Art and a designer at 2×4. He received his MFA from the Yale School of Art.
